How Do I Clean A Burnt Pot?
Posted on Dec 2, 2016 5:05pm PST
Cooking is great – you can make sure your dish is as well-done as
you like and use just the right amount of sauce – but cleaning up
afterwards isn’t nearly as great, especially when you leave your
food cooking for a bit too long and leave your pan a burned mess. While
you may have ruined your meal, you haven’t necessarily ruined your
pot or pan. With these quick tips, you should be able to clean off the
burned mess at the bottom and prepare for your next cooking attempt.
Before you start your clean, make sure that you have all the necessary supplies:
- Scouring pad
- Water
- 2 tablespoons of baking soda
- 1 cup of vinegar
Step 1
Fill your pot or pan with just enough water to fill the bottom. In most
cases, about a cup’s worth will do.
Step 2
Add the cup of vinegar to the water, place on the stove, and bring your
mixture to a boil. You should already be able to see some improvements.
Step 3
Turn off the stove and move the pot or pan closer to the sink in preparation
for the baking soda. Once you add it in, expect it to fizz up a bit so
be careful not to make a mess.
Step 4
Empty out the pan and use the scouring pad to scrub off any remaining burnt
material. If there are still any spots left, just mix some baking soda
with a few drops of water to make a paste, leave it on the problem areas
and let it sit for a while. When you come back, pop the pot or pan back
in the sink and roll up your sleeves for another round of scrubbing.
Cleaning up after a mess might not be fun, but it’s an important
part of keeping your home and kitchen clean. While cleaning a pan should
only up take a few minutes of your day, cleaning the rest of your house
will take quite a bit longer. If your schedule doesn’t give you
enough time to tackle all the messes you have your eye on or if you just
